I has a sad oppo. One of my neighbors has an abandoned 2002 out back. The whole thing is decaying to the ground, he's storing his old stuff in it.... This makes me angry. The guy down the street made an offer several years ago to buy it and restore it, but the dude said no!
Sorry 'bout the pics I was only armed with a potato.

you should go make an offer. Maybe if he see's enough people showing interest in the car, he will stop being lazy and either sell it, or fix it for himself. either way it could be a win win.

That should be criminal to just let it sit and rot.

You make a very good point. I'd have to ask the neighbor though, to see if he was stubborn or not.

His choice. It should be respected, unfortunately. * takes bowler hat off, lowers head * Rust in Peace, 2002.

offer to trade it for some other car he can park in his yard and store stuff in....no loss of utility for him.

either way, a simple comment "if youre ever ready to let her go, call me" would suffice. Stubborn or not, as long as you get a solid sentence in, you can walk away feeling accomplished because the ball is in his court. You'd have done your part.

Automotive hoarders are terrible. They'd much rather see a car disintegrate in to rust than sell it. There is one around here that has a split window Corvette rotting in his yard. He absolutely refuses to sell because he's going to fix it up. Some day.

I wonder of that thing is still economically restorable. I'd guess there isn't much floor left.

I saw plants growing inside the damn thing, so I doubt there is much left.

ya and also stealing a someones car is jalop offense number one ( i never meant for him to actually steal it)... but this jalop offense, that is leaving a car of historic significance to rot, is quite close behind.
